Is Barack Obama the Messiah?
by Ben Shapiro
Apparently, Senator Barack Hussein Obama, D-Illinois, is the Messiah. The New York Times reported on Sunday that in Obama's time at Harvard Law School, he "developed a leadership style based more on furthering consensus than on imposing his own ideas. Surrounded by students who enjoyed the sound of their own voices, Mr. Obama cast himself as an eager listener, sometimes giving warring classmates the impression that he agreed with all of them at once."
The Obama Messiah Watch
Introducing a periodic feature considering evidence that Obama is the son of God.

Is Barack Obama—junior U.S. senator from Illinois, best-selling author, Harvard Law Review editor, Men's Vogue cover model, and "exploratory" presidential candidate—the second coming of our Savior and our Redeemer, Prince of Peace and King of Kings, Jesus Christ?
His press coverage suggests we can't dismiss this possibility out of hand. I therefore inaugurate the Obama Messiah Watch, which will periodically highlight gratuitously adoring biographical details that appear in newspaper, television, and magazine profiles of this otherworldly presence in our midst.
Today's item, from a Los Angeles Times profile by Larry Gordon about Obama's two years at Occidental College (before he transferred to Columbia):
Obama As Messiah by Paul Butler
Here is the controversial sculpture depicting a messianic Barack Obama, along with the artist, David Cordero.
The artwork is, according to Cordero, "a response to what I’ve been seeing and hearing, this idea that Barack is a sort of potential savior that might come and absolve the country of all its sins. In a lot of ways it’s about caution in assigning all these inflated expectations in one individual, and expecting them to change something that so many hands have shaped." http://www.blackprof.com/archives/2007/04/obama
Obama wins "Messiah mentions"
STRAW POLL Posted by Shadi Hamid Well, it seems that this "Obama as Savior" thing continues to spread. Why is it that so many of us have suspicions that Barack Obama is the second coming of Christ? I decided to investigate the matter further by doing some Google searches:

Create a Kingdom on Earth

“Sometimes this is a difficult road being in politics,” Obama said. “Sometimes you can become fearful, sometimes you can become vain, sometimes you can seek power just for power’s sake instead of because you want to do service to God. I just want all of you to pray that I can be an instrument of God in the same way that Pastor Ron and all of you are instruments of God.”
He finished his brief remarks by saying, “We’re going to keep on praising together. I am confident that we can create a Kingdom right here on Earth.”
A Kingdom on Earth where no party can hog all the religious values. I have faith. Especially when Democratic leaders are leading the way. Pelosi prays for President Bush and Iraq victory everyday. That is leading by example. Yes, have faith. It shouldn’t be that difficult with prayer especially since President Bush says that all religions pray to the same God.
“Well, first of all, I believe in an Almighty God, and I believe that all the world, whether they be Muslim, Christian, or any other religion, prays to the same God. That’s what I believe. I believe that Islam is a great religion that preaches peace. And I believe people who murder the innocent to achieve political objectives aren’t religious people, whether they be a Christian who does that – we had a person blow up our – blow up a federal building in Oklahoma City who professed to be a Christian, but that’s not a Christian act to kill innocent people.
The Kingdom is surely near. Whats next? Will Obama raise the dead so their right to vote isn’t suppressed? http://stoptheaclu.com/archives/2007/10/07/obamamessiah-create-a-kingdom-on-earth/
