Laws that make denying or trivialising the Holocaust a criminal offence punishable by jail sentences will be introduced across the European Union, according to a proposal expecting to win backing from ministers Thursday.

Offenders will face up to three years in jail under the proposed legislation, which will also apply to inciting violence against ethnic, religious or national groups.

Diplomats in Brussels voiced confidence on Tuesday that the controversial plan, which has been the subject of heated debate for six years, will be endorsed by member states. However, the Baltic countries and Poland are still holding out for an inclusion of “Stalinist crimes” alongside the Holocaust in the text – a move that is being resisted by the majority of other EU countries.

The latest draft, seen by the Financial Times, will make it mandatory for all Union member states to punish public incitement “to violence or hatred directed against a group of persons or a member of such a group defined by reference to race, colour, religion, descent or national or ethnic origin”.

They will also have to criminalise “publicly condoning, denying or grossly trivialising crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes” when such statements incite hatred or violence against minorities.

Diplomats stressed the provision had been carefully worded to include only denial of the Holocaust – the Nazi mass murder of Jews during the second world war – and the genocide in Rwanda in 1994.

They also stressed that the wording was designed to avoid criminalising comical plays or films about the Holocaust such as the Italian comedian Roberto Benigni’s prize-winning Life is Beautiful . The text expressly upholds countries’ constitutional traditions relating to the freedom of expression.

Holocaust denial is already a criminal offence in several European countries, including Germany and Austria. It is not a specific crime in Britain, though UK officials said it could already be tackled under existing legislation.

In an attempt to assuage Turkish fears, several EU diplomats said the provisions would not penalise the denial of mass killing of Armenians by Ottoman troops in the aftermath of the 1915 collapse of the Ottoman empire. Turkey strongly rejects claims that this episode amounted to genocide.

The proposal draws what is likely to be a controversial distinction between inciting violence against racial or ethnic groups and against religious groups. Attacks against Muslims, Jews or other faiths will only be penalised if they go on to incite violence against ethnic or racial groups, the draft text states.

Guest workers aren't cheap; they're expensive

Jun 12, 2006 George W. Bush entered the White House in 2001 hoping he would be remembered in history books as the education president who raised public school standards with his No Child Left Behind Act. It now looks like his legacy will be "No illegal immigrant left behind."

The White House Web site is currently advertising, in both English and Spanish, Bush's congratulations (applaudo) to the U.S. Senate for passing what president called bipartisan (bipartidista) and comprehensive (integral) immigration reform (reforma). In fact, this Kennedy-McCain (aka Hagel-Martinez) bill might be the worst and the most expensive bill ever passed by the Senate, and it should be an embarrassment to any Republican who voted for it.

The media have reported on the sections that grant illegal residents amnesty (aka path to legalization or earned citizenship). But the media have censored out of their news reports the sections that are 10 to 20 times more costly and far more dishonest than playing games with the word amnesty.

In large print, the 795-page bill announces its "temporary guest worker" plan. Those words are lies because the fine print in the bill converts these workers, who are given H-2C visas, into permanent residents with the right to become citizens after five years.

The plan will start by importing 200,000 H-2C workers in the first year. The H-2Cers can immediately bring in their family members on H-4 visas, without any numeric limits and without being required to have a physical, and they will also get permanent legal residence and citizenship.

The Congressional Budget Office estimates that this bill would import 7.8 million immigrants, and convert another 11 million current immigrants, legal and illegal, into U.S. citizens over the next decade. The Heritage Foundation estimates that 66 million new citizens will be added to the current population over the next 20 years. The number would accelerate as the racket called family chain migration allows more new residents to bring in more and more relatives.

The bill gives these temporary workers some preferential rights that U.S. workers do not have. These new temporary workers can't be fired from their jobs except for "just cause," they must be paid the prevailing wage, and they can't be arrested for other civil immigration offenses if they are stopped for traffic violations.

The bill assures the preference of in-state college tuition (something that is denied to U.S. citizens in 49 states), and certain types of college financial assistance will be available to illegals at the state's option. As minorities, they might even get affirmative action preferences in jobs, government contracts, and college admissions.

After the so-called temporary workers and their spouses become citizens, they can bring in their parents as permanent residents on the path to citizenship. Although the parents have never paid into Social Security, they will be eligible for Supplemental Security Income benefits, and in 46 states they will be eligible for full Medicaid benefits after five years. Siblings and adult children (and their families) will be given preference in future admissions.

The demographics of the so-called temporary workers are expected to be similar to those of the illegal immigrants already in our country. More than half will be high school dropouts, they will work low-paid jobs that require payment of little or no income tax, they are 50 percent more likely to receive taxpayer-funded government benefits than natural-born households, and they have a 42 percent rate of out-of-wedlock births (all of whom, of course, will be granted automatic U.S. citizenship).

Estimates of the cost to the taxpayers of this gargantuan expansion of the welfare state are at least $50 billion a year over the long term. U.S. taxpayers will pay for entitlements to these tens of millions of low-income families, including Medicaid, Social Security, Supplemental Security Income, Earned Income Tax Credit (cash handouts of up to $4,400 a year to low-wage households), public schooling and lunches, the WIC program, food stamps, public housing, and Temporary Assistance to Needy Families.

The push is on from the White House to get Senate and House conferees to reach a compromise between the Senate Kennedy bill and the House Sensenbrenner bill. Compromise with the bill sponsored by Sens. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., and John McCain, R-Ariz., is a non-starter because, in the words of the adage, you can't make a silk purse out of sow's ear.
President Bush just told the U.S. Chamber of Commerce that he wants to "shape the future." The Senate bill would, within 20 years, result in about 25 percent of our population being foreign born (most of them non-English-speaking high school dropouts).

Kennedy and McCain's "temporary guest workers" would give America a future like France, which is staggering under the weight of multicultural guest workers who never went home and bloated taxpayer-funded welfare entitlements.

BEHIND THE “HATE BILL” BATTLE ON CAPITOL HILL

On October 20th, in a stunning victory for freedom, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted not to add Senator Edward Kennedy’s “anti-hate” bill, S.1145, onto the Children’s Safety Act, H.R.3132.

This effectively blocked further movement of the House version of the hate bill (passed as Amdt. 2662) toward a vote in the Senate. This was a shocking reversal for the homosexual lobby, a powerful force behind all anti-hate legislation.

Since then, I have been calling Senators who support and oppose the hate bill, attempting to discover what really happened in Judiciary. This is vital to ascertain the prospects of passage of this Orwellian legislation.

What I have discovered is sobering.

To understand the possible success or defeat of the hate bill, we have to first comprehend the motivations and pressures upon Senator Edward Kennedy. Kennedy has powerful groups pressuring him, notably the pedophile lobby - an emerging political force in the Capitol. They are becoming increasingly visible and vocal through such political action groups as NAMBLA, the North American Man/Boy Love Association. Pedophiles hate the Children’s Safety Act and its similar Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act of 2005, S.1086. These bills were created and sponsored not by liberals but by conservative Republicans who also oppose the hate bill (such as Hatch, Sensenbrenner, and DeLay). S.1086 and H.R.3132 are extremely punitive toward convicted pedophiles. Kennedy’s pedophile supporters demand that he do his best to weaken legislation that punishes those who sexually molest little boys and girls.

Enter the eight Republican members of the Judiciary Committee. On October 20, 2005 they were determined to block Kennedy’s hate bill but were outvoted in Judiciary 10 to 8. Yet they had something Kennedy wanted: power to water down the Sex Offender bill. Result: Kennedy and the Republicans struck a deal. Parts of the Sex Offender Act were diluted to make Kennedy’s pedophiles happier. In return, Kennedy agreed not to force a vote in Judiciary to add S.1145 to the Children’s Safety Act, a vote he would have won. Since S.1145 is a “stand-alone” bill, Kennedy knew he could press that issue later when he will try to attach S.1145 to the Sex Offender Act on the floor of the Senate.

Republican opponents of the hate bill had no other choice.

UNITING TO WIN IN THE SENATE
Meanwhile, conservatives in Congress who are pushing the anti-pedophile legislation are very weary of its being labeled “Orwellian” by the religious political right and lumped together with the anti-hate bill. Many on the Right object to the Children’s Safety and Sex Offender Acts because they authorize federal control and punishment of sex offenders, a prerogative such strict constitutionalists believe resides with the states. While this legislation does increase federalization of law enforcement, I have studied S.1086 carefully and do not find it invasive of the rights of anyone except sex offenders. Already, the government can intervene in states’ rights if it finds voter fraud, jury tampering, slavery, or crimes involving interstate commerce. Republican originators of S.1086 believe that child molestation, pornography, child prostitution, etc. are of such epidemic national proportions that only the federal government can most effectively deal with them.

Senator Frist and anti-pedophile Republicans desire that patriots call their Senators, not only opposing Kennedy’s hate bill but also convincing a majority of Senators to vote for the Sex Offender Act. They feel that strong Senate support behind S.1086 would give Republican leadership a strong position to not only pass anti-pedophile legislation but also restrain Kennedy’s attempts to attach his hate bill to it.

In my opinion, blocking Kennedy and his hate bill is of enormously greater importance than passing the Sex Offender Act. Yet I believe this pro-family legislation should be encouraged. The least that should be done, even by those who disagree with its federalist complexion, is to protest the hate bill, not the Sex Offender Act.

KEEP UP THE FIGHT
The Republican strategy has been to derail the Children’s Safety Act with its hate bill attachment, Amdt. 2662, and create another Senate version of that act, S.1086. Thus, if Kennedy should succeed in attaching S.1145, then the House and Senate versions will be different, necessitating conference between the House and Senate. Since Kennedy’s hate bill probably cannot be defeated by a vote in the Senate, referral to conference would be a boon to all who love free speech.

Four times over the past six years the hate bill has been passed by the Senate yet rejected in conference, thanks to the vigilance of feisty House Republican conferees. Those four times, the hate bill sailed through the Senate Judiciary Committee. It did not this time because eight Republican Senators had overwhelmingly heard from the people forbidding them to let the hate bill through. It was because of their obedience to that resounding voice of the people that they were even willing to allow their cherished Sex Offender Act to be weakened.
Clearly, Providence and the voice of protest helped empower defeat of the hate bill in Judiciary on October 20, 2005.

It is time to not only pray for Divine deliverance but also to continue to saturate the Senate against Kennedy’s hate bill. We must call, email, and call again because our freedom and that of our children depends upon it.

We are in a hold-your-breath moment in American history. Our civil liberties tremble in enormous danger from Stalinist legislation that could, within days, largely shatter our freedom of speech. American civil liberties are our best protection from the abuses of government. They define the U.S.A. we know and love, a nation where we can travel and gather in extraordinary freedom, write and read almost anything, and speak our minds in public. Without civil liberties, there will be no America left in which to resist “Islamofascism” or wage “culture wars.” Before any other battle, we must protect our rights.

On Thursday April 12, Sens. Ted Kennedy and Gordon Smith re-introduced the federal thought crimes bill, renaming it after Matthew Shepard, the most famous and misrepresented “hate crime victim.” It’s like the maraschino cherry in the poisoned gin of lies spread about this legislation (See, "Top 11 Reasons You Should Fight Hate Laws" ). Shepard wasn’t the victim of a hate crime and his brutal death was prosecuted without federal help (which is what a federal hate bill is all about).

It’s poetic justice that Kennedy and Smith chose a fake “hate crime” victim for fake “anti-hate” legislation. These laws don’t counter hate; they institutionalize it by empowering the government to prosecute “bias”—and to decide whose biases are bad! This bill would allow the feds to invade states' rights in law enforcement, violating the Constitution. It would create castes of crime victims in our society, tripling penalties for criminals who are judged to be motivated by a “bias” that the government has declared illegal. This means if a 20-year-old kills a drag queen and a judge thinks he was motivated by rage at effeminacy he’ll spend three times longer in jail than if he’d killed his girlfriend because of rage that she cheated.

Violent crimes should be punished, and all their victims should get satisfaction from the law, period. The government has no business in the complicated psychology of motivations, beliefs, and biases. “Anti-hate” laws also do worse than triple penalties for bias-motivated violent crimes; they set precedents for the criminalization of pure speech itself.

This federal law could pass very soon, within days. The Imus fiasco demonstrates the culture of censorship promoted by progressive leftists in mainstream media. A scary willingness to trample freedom of speech also shows in the European Union’s proposal to punish Holocaust denial with up to three years’ jail, in all EU states. This law is before the EU right now, and many believe it will pass. It will criminalize “denial or trivialization” of the Jewish Holocaust and 1994 genocide in Rwanda, but no others. A majority of EU member states refuse to include Communism’s mass murders. This refusal further reveals the ideological bent of the ban; thought crime laws enforce one perception of history, and privilege one set of victims. The same goes for hate laws and all speech bans. They are, by nature, discriminatory. Our beliefs always do discriminate and privilege, but that’s the right of individuals, not governments. Supreme Court Justice Robert Jackson said in 1943, "No official, high or petty, can prescribe what shall be orthodox politics, nationalism, religion, or any other matters of opinion, or force citizens to confess by word or act their faith therein."

I wish every American citizen knew and understood those words. Maybe then we would be quicker to resist a federal hate law that would—among other things—prescribe approval of homosexuality as national orthodoxy, silencing moral objections under threat of jail-time.

Homosexual news and advocacy organizations write supportively of the bill, as have the Arab-American Anti-Discrimination Committee and, of course, the Anti-Defamation League and the Jewish Council for Public Affairs. Still, there is far more awareness of the gun lobby and their resistance to gun control laws than of any kind of “freedom lobby.” Many, many major conservative news outlets—and mainstream sources, of course—remain silent about this horribly dangerous legislation.

Other Arrows in the Anti-Christ Quiver

The federal hate law is just the scariest weapon in an arsenal of speech control legislation looming over America. Even now, the Supreme Court is hearing a landmark free speech case; and the Fairness Doctrine, which would shatter talk radio, is getting bandied about as a solution to stupid talkers like Imus (and political opponents of the Democrats in Congress and the Clinton machine).

Imus’ words were crass and mean, just the latest in a string of bad stuff he’s said. But lynching him is not the right response! “The only thing worse than an uncivil society is a society where government legislates what is civil,” comments Charles Haynes of the First Amendment Center.

“If you want to see what the brave new world of controlled speech looks like, visit many of our public colleges and universities — places that are supposed to be bastions of free expression. According to the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, more than 73% of public universities maintain unconstitutional speech codes, despite numerous federal court decisions striking down similar policies. Overall, 68% of colleges and universities surveyed, including private institutions, have policies that restrict freedom of speech.” (April 15, “Imus, Coulter and the marketplace for offensive speech”)

After Imus slurred the Rutgers' women's basketball team, Oprah Winfrey hosted them on her show. She praised their grace in “holding up” under the terrible, horrific trauma of being called a bad name by a shock jock. The women spoke of “shattered dreams” with pathos that makes you wonder how they mark a true tragedy like the Virginia Tech massacre.

Yes, words wound. But I’d rather be called every foul word found in America’s truckstops than have the federal government shut somebody’s mouth by force. Doesn’t anybody remember Stalin? Censorship is one of humankind’s primal urges, and that’s abundantly clear from our government’s present actions. It’s up to us to protest, before our right of free expression is swept away.

Our laws already sufficiently criminalize violent actions committed against American citizens, whatever their stripes. We do not want speech codes that ban free expression. We do not want a federal hate law to create special classes of victims, providing triple penalties for criminals based on the thinking behind their actions. We do not want Big Brother legislating our thoughts, beliefs, and biases.

Liberals want government to stay out of the bedroom? Well, I want government to keep their handcuffs off my mind!

Many people do realize this. Big kudos and thanks go to the Christian, conservative groups who are on the strange side of freedom in the ongoing case of Deborah Morse, Juneau School Board v. Joseph Frederick. This Supreme Court case concerns a student’s right to hold up a banner reading “Bong Hits 4 Jesus” across the street from his school.

Who thinks Joe Frederick should be allowed to hold up this nonsensical, arguably irreverent, pro-drug banner across the street from his school? Christians, that’s who! Supporters of the student’s rights include the Christian Legal Society, the American Center for Law and Justice, the Alliance Defense Fund, and the Rutherford Institute—solidly conservative organizations. These groups recognize that if school officials are allowed to censor Frederick’s controversial speech they will be able to censor other student speech—that of Christians and conservatives, the most common targets of academic speech codes. This case is a perfect example of defending speech you dislike to preserve speech you value. And it is further proof that freedom of speech has become a battle for the conservative right, whose moral beliefs are the ultimate target of speech codes and “anti-hate” legislation.
If we do not speak up and fight this battle now, we may lose the chance forever. Now is the time to call and protest to your elected representatives, demanding that they resist the federal hate bill when it comes to a full vote in the House. Make your voice heard. Nothing matters more than defending our civil liberties at this crucial moment in our nation’s history.

Similarly isn't "prejudice" another term for learning from experience? Often it's really "post-judice." I think most people will change their views when they see that the facts have changed.

Then why should we blame people who resent being relegated to second-class citizens in their own country? Who resent that a foreign central banking cartel controls politics and the media? Who resent it flooding the country with aliens in order to change the character? Who resent that marriages and families have been destroyed by Feminism, introduced by those Communist and Media Jews who serve this cartel? Who resent that their young are dying and their nation bled dry by the banker's foreign wars? Who resent they are losing their freedom under the guise of a phony war on terror? Who resent the fearless media doesn't expose the scoundrels really responsible for 9-11 and the death of 3000 Americans?

When Don Imus referred to a Black women's basketball team as "nappy headed hos" he was using the Black rapper term ("hos") that CBS-owner Viacom has helped make part of the vernacular.

Viacom, also owns MTV and VHS which plays this rap music. Viacom also owns "Famous Music," which publishes and markets the work of hip-hop and rap artists who portray Black women as "bitches" and "hoes." A cursory search yielded this couplet from Rapper "Cadillac Tah":

Bitches come, bitches go But little do they know we don't love them ho's ("Come and Go")
So Imus is double victimized by CBS's owners. First they popularize a derogatory expression, and then they fire him for using it.

It is so common that Imus' sidekick actually introduced it into the conversation:

McGuirk: Some hard-core hos.

Corporate sponsors affirmed their political bona fides by canceling advertising. If you like Imus, boycott the following: American Express Co., Sprint Nextel Corp., Staples Inc., Procter & Gamble Co. and General Motors Corp. But buy Bigelow Tea. " Imus thanked one sponsor, Bigelow Tea, for sticking by him."

Another Uncle Tom, Bryan Monroe, president of the National Association of Black Journalists and director of Ebony and Jet magazines, met with Moonves on Wednesday….He urged them ... to take a stand against the coarsening of culture.

"Something happened in the last week around America," Monroe said. "It's not just what the radio host did. America said enough is enough. America said we don't want this kind of conversation, we don't want this kind of vitriol, especially with teenagers."

Let's see how they like it if I start talking about their [in reference to US War Leaders] secrets, starting with 9/11."

Unable to attack such a powerful media figure as Don Imus, directly, the US War Leaders, and as we have seen many times before, resorted to a massive media attack against him using as the reason a racial slur against a US woman's basketball team, but which has been pointed out by other media outlets was not by any means a rare occurrence for the legendary radio icon to make.

But, to the US War Leaders, Don Imus represented the most serious threat, to date, of the growing assault against them by America's media personalities threatening to expose the truths behind the events of September 11, 2001 and the Iraq/Afghanistan Wars; and to such an extent that another American media personality, Rosie O'Donnell, has expressed concern that US Military Leaders could actually imprison Mr. Imus.

From our past research of the tactics used against those threatening America's War Leaders, the likelihood of imprisonment for Don Imus would only occur should he persist in his threats to undermine their authority, and which appears, at this time, unlikely after the public disgrace he has had to endure.
